A prize wheel or a giveaway wheel?

People use “prize wheel” for two different things, and this wheel does both:

    • Prizes on the wheel (spin to win). Each slice is a prize, like “10% off”, “Free coffee” or “Try again”. Every customer, visitor or student spins once and gets what the wheel lands on. This is the wheel loaded above.
    • Names on the wheel (giveaway). Each slice is a person who entered. You spin once per prize and the name the wheel lands on wins. For this, paste your entrants into Bulk edit, or use the random name picker, which is set up for names.

How to set up your prize wheel

    1. Choose a starting wheel. Load one of the ready-made prize wheels below, or clear the wheel and start from nothing.
    2. Add your prizes. Type one prize per line in Bulk edit and press Apply list. Short labels read best on the slices.
    3. Set the odds. Add common prizes several times and the big prize only once (see below).
    4. Add your colors. In Colors & effects, set your brand colors for the slices and pick a background and button color.
    5. Go fullscreen. Press Fullscreen on a tablet, laptop or TV so the wheel fills the screen. Each spin ends with the prize shown large, with fireworks and a chime.
    6. Save it. This page remembers your prize wheel in this browser. Press Copy share link to keep it as a bookmark or to open it on another device.

    Ready-made prize wheels

Click a wheel to load it, then change the prizes to your own. Loading a wheel replaces the prizes currently on it.

    Setting the odds

All slices are the same size, so each slice has the same chance. To make a prize more or less likely, change how many slices it has. On the shop wheel above there are 8 slices:

    • “Try again” is on 3 slices, so it comes up 3 times in 8 (37.5%).
    • “10% off”, “5% off”, “Free coffee”, “Free sticker” and “Mystery gift” are on 1 slice each: a 1-in-8 chance (12.5%) each.

Want a rarer grand prize? Use more slices. On a wheel of 20 slices, a prize on one slice comes up about once in every 20 spins. The odds are always exactly what people see on the wheel; there are no hidden weights.

    Running a giveaway people trust

A giveaway only works if the people who entered believe the result. The wheel picks winners with your browser's secure random number generator, but people can't see that, so make the draw visible as well:

    • Publish the rules first. Say how to enter, when entries close, how many winners there will be and how winners are contacted.
    • One entry per person, unless the rules say otherwise. Remove duplicates before you spin. If extra entries are allowed, explain how they are earned.
    • Spin live. Draw on a livestream, in front of the audience or on a big screen in Fullscreen, rather than announcing a name afterwards.
    • Remove each winner. Tick Remove winner after spin and spin once per prize so nobody can win twice.
    • Keep a record. Record your screen during the draw, and keep the share link of the wheel with all entries.
    • Decide in advance what happens if a winner doesn't reply, for example a new spin after 48 hours.

Giveaway rules differ by country and by platform. Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube all have their own promotion rules, and in many places a prize draw that requires a purchase is treated as a lottery. Check what applies to you before you launch; this page is not legal advice.

At the shop counter, booth or classroom

For in-person use, open the wheel on a tablet or laptop facing the customer and press Fullscreen. Visitors tap Spin themselves, which feels more like a game and shows it isn't decided by staff. The wheel doesn't keep stock, so when a prize runs out, press × next to it to take it off the wheel. In class, the Classroom rewards wheel gives free rewards like a homework pass or choosing the music, and the sound and fireworks can be switched off in Colors & effects for a quieter room.

    Prize wheels on stream

Streamers use a prize wheel for channel-point rewards, sub goals and community challenges. Set your channel colors, then capture the browser window in OBS or Streamlabs. The winner appears in large type that reads well on stream. For viewer giveaways, put viewer names on the wheel instead of prizes and spin once per prize.

    Frequently asked questions

How do I make a prize wheel?

Delete the sample prizes, type your own (one per line in “Bulk edit” is quickest) and press Spin. Set your brand colors in the “Colors & effects” tab and press “Copy share link” to save the wheel.

Can I change the odds of each prize?

Yes, by adding a prize more than once. On a wheel with 8 slices, a prize on 1 slice has a 1-in-8 chance and “Try again” on 3 slices has a 3-in-8 chance. The wheel has no hidden weights, so what people see is the real chance.

Can the prize wheel be rigged?

No. The result is picked by your browser's cryptographic random number generator before the wheel starts turning, and there is no setting to force a result. That is also what makes it fair to use in public.

How do I run a fair giveaway with the wheel?

Publish the rules first, put one entry per person on the wheel, and spin live in fullscreen where everyone can watch. Tick “Remove winner after spin” so nobody wins twice, and record the screen as proof.

Can the wheel pick several winners?

Yes. Tick “Remove winner after spin” and spin once per prize. Each winner leaves the wheel, so every spin picks a different person.

Can I use my brand colors?

Yes. Open “Colors & effects” to choose your own slice colors, plus the page background and button colors. Your slice colors are included in the share link.

Does the wheel keep track of how many prizes are left?

No. When a prize runs out, remove it from the wheel by pressing × next to it, or tick “Remove winner after spin” if each prize on the wheel can only be won once.

Can I use the wheel for an Instagram or TikTok giveaway?

Yes. Paste the usernames of everyone who entered, one per line, and record your screen while you spin. Check the platform's own promotion rules before you start.
